Women of CoreNet Keynote & Fireside

I had a fantastic afternoon yesterday with the Women of CoreNet at the Twitter headquarters in San Francisco!

I gave a keynote presentation followed by a fun fireside chat with Northern California CoreNet President, Sandy Heistand.

What an amazing group of successful women!

We discussed challenges in team building, recruiting, leadership and building and running successful organizations.

I was able to talk with many of the women following the talk and hear about their journeys in the business world. What a great event!

Game Changer Awards Honor Coaches

On Jan. 26, I attended the Coaching Corps Game Changer Dinner and Awards at The Fairmont in San Francisco. I had the privilege of presenting the Lifetime Achievement Award to Tara VanDerveer, who was my college and Olympic coach.

San Francisco Giants outfielder (and two-time World Series champ) Hunter Pence and Golden State Warriors guard (and 2015 NBA MVP) Steph Curry were incredible as they honored their coaches.

It was a memorable night and the Coaching Corps is an incredible organization!

Here's a photo gallery from the event.

The NBA and Warriors renovated the entire club with a new gym, and learn and play center including state of the art computers and books. It was incredible!

Here is a recent story about the team that was on Channel 5 in the Bay Area:

Crazy how far we have come! One game away from the NCAA tournament!

Be sure to keep an eye on the USF Women's Basketball Facebook page for the latest updates.

Get to Know Our Amazing Seniors

I am proud of our Senior Class at USF. They have improved tremendously in the past three years under our coaching staff and the greater USF community.

We have a huge emphasis at USF on the health and well being of our student-athletes. Because of the attention to detail in this area, athletes are able to thrive in this environment.

Get to know them better by watching the following video.

USF Women's Basketball Team Receives Top Academic Honor

I am really excited to share the following news with you. We just received top honors for Academic Progress Rates (APR)!

This means we are in the top 10 percent of all Division I programs in the country!

The APR represents a four-year rolling average and provides a clear picture of the academic culture of a program. The latest figures, released by the NCAA May 7, represent a combination of scores beginning with the 2009-10 academic year.

We are one of two California schools honored, with the other being Stanford. This is huge as it measures progress in the four years that I've been at the University of San Francisco.

I am so proud!

Here is the full news release.

And here is a video talking with some of the players:

San Antonio Spurs Practice at USF

The San Antonio Spurs dropped in to practice at USF on Saturday. It was great seeing them again as I know many of them from my time with the WNBA San Antonio Silver Stars.

My team enjoyed meeting Tony, Manu, and Tim! The guys were really nice to our players and took time to take photos and talk with them.

The Importance of Title IX

Title IX provided me tremendous opportunities as a young athlete and now as a coach allows me to help young women use their talents to get a first class education they might not otherwise be able to afford. The video is part of a series celebrating Title IX and its impact on women.

USF Notches WCC Victory Over Pepperdine

I am so proud of our team for their effort and milestone 80-48 win over Pepperdine at the WCC Tournament in Las Vegas.

We have had several milestones this season, including the first double-digit win season since 2006.

We also have two players on the All-Freshman Team — Zhane' Dikes and Taylor Proctor — and one All-Conference selection in Mel Khlok. That has not happened at USF since 1995!

It's exciting to see our hard work start to pay off.
